جوامع‌الحکایات بزرگ‌ترین اثر داستانی قرن هفتم است، و سندی است از تاریخ تمدن و ادبیات و علوم. در نیمة اول قرن هفتم هجری در گرماگرمِ جنگ‌ها و فتنه‌های جانگزا و توان‌فرسا از سرزمینی در قلمرو زبان فارسی مردی بلندهمت از گوشة قلعة بکر پرتوی نافذ به جهان ادبیات انداخت و دایره المعارفی از داستان‌ها، مشحون از نکات تاریخی و اخلاقی و مذهبی و پُر از لطایف سخن، به پژوهندگان راه راستین پیشکش آورد. جوامع الحکایات از 4 قسم و هر قسم دارای 25 باب شامل چندین حکایت است. دکتر شعار از این اثر گزید‌ه‌هایی به شرح زیر تصحیح نموده، که بر پایة نسخة خطی کتابخانة ملی پاریس به نشانیِ Ancien Fonds Persan 75  که قدیمی‌ترین نسخه‌های موجود است، و در میان سال‌های 625 و 630 هجری قمری (حدود سال 605 خورشیدی):

نسخة کامل این اثر در سال 1378 توسط زنده یاد دکتر شعار آغاز شد، که کفاف عمر نشد، و به چاپ نرسید. از نسخه‌برداری، فیش‌بندی، واژگان، شرح‌ها و نقد اثر، آنچه از این کار یادگار مانده، تلاشی دوباره توسط فرزندش نصیر شعار برای تدوین نسخة کامل آغاز شده است.

از این اثر، نسخة کامل به تصحیح و نگارش خانم دکتر امیربانو کریمی (مصفا) با پژوهشی انتقادی بر مبنای نسخ خطیِ دیگر به چاپ رسیده است. یک گزیدة جوامع‌احکایات به تصحیح دکتر امیربانو مصفا، و همسرش  دکتر مظاهر مصفا از سوی این بانوی فرهیخته، که دانش‌آموختة دکتر شعار بود، به کتابخانة دکتر شعار اهدا شده است.

The Javāmi Al Hikāyāt is the greatest fictional work of the 7th century, and it is a document of the history of civilization, literature, and science. In the first half of the 7th century of Hijri (12^th. Century), in the heat of wars and intrigues, powerful, from a land in the territory of the Persian language, a brave man from the corner of the Beker Castle cast a penetrating light into the world of literature and an encyclopedia of stories, full of historical, moral and religious points and full of subtleties. tails brought an offering to the seekers of the right path. The collections of anecdotes are divided into 4 sections and each section has 25 chapters including several anecdotes. Dr. Sheār has corrected excerpts from this work as follows, based on the manuscript copy of the National Library of Paris under the address of Ancien Fonds Persan 75, which is the oldest available copy, and between the years 625 and 630 AH (about 605 AD):

The complete version of this work was started in 2000 by Zinda Yad Dr. Shaar, but it was not enough for Omar, and it was not published. From the copying, fisching, vocabulary, descriptions and criticism of the work, what remains of this work, a new attempt has been started by his son Nasir Sheār to compile a complete version.

A complete version of this work, edited and written by Dr. Amirbanu Karimi (Mosaffā), has been published with a critical research based on another manuscript. A collection of anecdotes edited by Dr. Amirbanu Musafa and her husband Dr. Mazahir Mosaffā has been donated to Dr. Sheār’s library by this learned lady, who was a student of Dr. Sheār.
